Is bioidentical hormone replacement safe?Yes, numerous studies have shown that hormone therapy is safe when administered in the correct dosage and monitored by a qualified provider. There can be side effects from any medications, including hormone replacement and/or thyroid medication. If you are experiencing moderate to severe symptoms, the benefits of hormone therapy will likely outweigh the risks. The severity of your symptoms, your personal and family medical history are an important part of your health assessment and will guide the discussion for the appropriate treatments options. We will put a program together especially for you at your first visit.

Why should I use bioidentical hormones?Bioidentical hormones are an exact replica of the hormones naturally produced by the body. The difference between bioidentical hormones and synthetic hormones is that, although both are created in labs, synthetic hormones are not identical to the hormones naturally created in your body. Bioidentical hormones match your body's hormones molecule by molecule. Depending on your symptoms and which hormone(s) your body needs, your plan may include prescriptions for bioidentical hormone replacement such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid hormones, DHEA or others as needed. Human life expectancy has doubled over the last 100 years. Many women will be spending a third or more of their lives in menopause. Women suffering from menopause or perimenopause, use bioidentical hormones to replace natural hormones that decline in their bodies with age to help increase their quality of life. Comprehensive research proves that bioidentical hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, thyroid and testosterone are not only safe, but have a positive impact on diseases like heart disease, osteoporosis and dementia, especially if started within the first five years of menopause.

What should I expect from my discovery call?During the discovery call, I will determine whether partnering with me is the best next step for you. How does your program work?We start with an in-depth analysis of where you are today. Based on your medical history and your goals, you’ll undergo a series of sophisticated and comprehensive tests to assess your current hormonal balance, your nutritional status, your stress levels, and your risk for chronic disease. Once the lab analysis is complete, I'll prepare a personalized wellness program to meet your goals and address any current health issues and symptoms. Depending on the program this may include a tailored regimen of pharmaceutical grade nutritional supplements, bio-identical hormone therapy, nutrition, lifestyle and stress management counseling. Then together, we’ll get to work.

Is your program covered by insurance?I am a cash-based practice. I do not accept any insurance, including Medicare or Medicaid. I am categorized as “out-of-network” providers for insurance plans. If requested, I will provide the documentation required for you to bill your insurance company, and you will be reimbursed according to your out-of-network benefits. If you are unsure what your benefits are, please check with your insurance company prior to your appointment. In addition to my professional fees, there are the lab tests. Even though we are “out of network”, the labs I order maybe in your network.
